Giggles, service, and family life

Meet David Pearson: an Australian emergency service veteran, dad of three, and the cheeky storyteller behind delightful children's books made to get kids reading and laughing out loud.

From front-line service to funny stories

For over two decades, David has worked across the Australian emergency services, serving as a dedicated police officer and in the ADF supporting communities across Western Australia and Victoria. Living now in Melbourne, he brings that spirit of care, patience, and humour to his writing for young readers aged 4 to 8.

Inspired by a lively household

Married with three energetic, outgoing children, two dogs, and two cats, life is never quiet. In such a wonderfully chaotic home, not a day goes by without a cheeky Bronx cheer or two. That authentic, everyday family silliness became the spark for two hilarious picture books celebrating bodily sounds that every child finds irresistible.

Sparking imaginations and wry smiles

David’s mission is simple: ignite the imaginations of young readers while quite possibly embarrassing—and definitely sparking a wry smile on the faces of—the parents, grandparents, and teachers reading alongside them. David also loves visiting local classrooms and libraries to share the joy of storytelling.

"David's books had our entire household roaring with laughter. It is rare to find a story that gets our young reader begging for bedtime reading!"
